Shelfable AI is a working name for an independent research effort — not a company pitching a product. We audit how brands and their catalogs show up across AI search, and we share what we learn.

Shopping is quietly moving from search bars to answers. People ask ChatGPT what to buy, ask Perplexity to compare options, and read Google’s AI summaries before they ever click a link. When those systems describe a category, some brands get named and cited — and some don’t exist at all.

We got curious about why. So we started auditing real merchant sites the way an AI model would read them: what’s crawlable, what’s structured, what signals are clear, and whether the brand actually surfaces for its own category. The patterns were consistent enough to be worth sharing — and fixable enough to be worth a report.
